Chunsheng Lu is an associate in the Business Department and co-chair of the China Business Practice Group.  While he focuses his practice on corporate and business matters, his experience with domestic mergers and acquisitions, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting and compliance, and general corporate governance, has allowed Mr. Lu to focus on international business transactions as well.  He regularly advises U.S. clients doing business in China and Chinese clients doing business in the U.S.

Previously a lawyer in China, Mr. Lu has an intimate understanding of China's legal and business environment and close relationships with professionals working in both arenas.  This experience, coupled with a strategic alliance formed between White and Williams and Shanghai-based Xue Law Firm, enables Mr. Lu to spend a significant amount of time practicing from China.

Mr. Lu regularly speaks and presents at various legal and business seminars. His recent speaking  engagements include the following, "How to Organize, Evaluate and Invest in China" (First China Private Equity International Forum in Tian Jin, China); "How to Invest and Do Business in the United States - U.S. Stock Markets, IPOS and Reverse Mergers" (Ji Nan Industry Development Forum in Ji Nan, China); "China Road Show: Protecting your Intellectual Property in China and the Global Marketplace," (The United States Patent and Trademark Office in Philadelphia); "China Business: Challenges, Strategies & Successes," (The Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance and the U.S. Commercial Service in Wilkes-Barre); and "Private Equity: Facing New Challenges in Investing Asia" (Wharton Global Business Forum in Philadelphia).

Mr. Lu received his LL.B. from Soochow University School of Law in China and received his J.D., magna cum laude, graduating second in his class, from Widener University School of Law.  During law school, he was a member of the Widener Law Review and a recipient of the James S. Bowman American Inn of Court award.

Prior to joining White and Williams, Mr. Lu served as a law clerk for the Honorable Bonnie Brigance Leadbetter of the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania.  He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and China, and is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Bar Associations.

Recently, Mr. Lu was selected by The Legal Intelligencer and the Pennsylvania Law Weekly as one of 35 Lawyers on the Fast Track an honor that features future leaders in Pennsylvania's legal community.
