Ms. Russell is counsel in the Commercial Litigation Department. She represents business clients in a wide range of complex commercial litigation matters. Her practice is presently heavily concentrated in the areas of insurance and reinsurance, and has previously included various construction and other commercial contract disputes. She has litigated matters in many state and federal courts throughout the country and has also conducted numerous mediations and arbitrations.
In the insurance and reinsurance arena, Ms. Russell has represented insurers in coverage disputes flowing from various types of claims including environmental, product defect, professional negligence and professional disability, and cedents, reinsurers and retrocessionaires in a wide array of reinsurance disputes. Many of her insurance and reinsurance representations also included a claim for bad faith.
In the area of other commercial contracts, Ms. Russell has had experience litigating matters concerning large equipment leases, software licensing agreements, shipper-carrier agreements, construction contracts, and telecommunication services agreements, among other types of contracts.
Prior to joining White and Williams, Ms. Russell served as a law clerk to The Honorable Isaiah Steinberg of the Superior Court of New Jersey and to The Honorable Randy J. Holland of the Supreme Court of Delaware.
A magna cum laude graduate of Widener University School of Law in 1995, Ms. Russell was research editor of the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law. She earned her bachelor of arts degree from Ursinus College in 1990.
Ms. Russell is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
